Canine Life Skills Awards

The Canine Life Skills Awards is a structured training course designed to help dogs and their owners build practical, everyday skills in a supportive and encouraging environment.

This is a fixed-length class, running for a set number of weeks, giving you and your dog a clear framework to learn and progress together. Throughout the course, owners and their canine companions will work towards their Canine Life Skills Bronze Award, with guidance and support from their trainer. Once Bronze is achieved, teams can continue their journey by progressing on to Silver and Gold Awards in future courses.

Each award level includes a range of real-life skills to choose from, allowing training to remain relevant and meaningful. There is no failing and no pressure to progress before you are ready. Achievement is based on confidence, understanding and practical application, not comparison with others.

Training is reward-based, force-free and inclusive. Where needed, alternative skills can be agreed to ensure every dog has the opportunity to succeed without compromising welfare.

The Canine Life Skills Awards course is ideal for owners who value clear structure, ethical training and supportive guidance to build calm, confident, real-world behaviour.
